Taylor Hospital

UNOP Pacesetter Winter 1998

TAYLOR UPDATES

UNOP and Crozer-Keystone recently agreed that Taylor nurses would be included in a new Tax Sheltered Annuity offered by Crozer. This TSA includes matching contributions by the employer. You will be receiving more information by mail.

Taylor nurses voted by a 2 to 1 margin to drop a complaint regarding improperly calculated over-time which would have resulted in some members paying back almost three hundred dollars.

An arbitration request has been made for the O.R. and PACU staff sent home when the electricity was out.

Several arbitrations have been settled with the hospital agreeing to pay mandation time without precedent.

The Cath lab arbitration was settled in the eleventh hour. The hospital has agreed to give the staff the right of first refusal on all cath lab over-time without requiring them to take call. They will also receive double time for any over-time over 30 minutes for the duration of this contract. The hospital is going to attempt to get the cath lab physicians to start on time so over-time is eliminated.

The hospital has assured the Union that their is no plan to increase the nurse to patient ratio on Telemetry.

The hospital has assured the Union that it will begin looking at empty positions to see if they can be posted without rotation as it says in our contract.

The hospital and the Union will be looking at the possibility of a permanent charge position in the E.R. on 3-11. Until something is agreed upon "charge" should rotate as always.

Any nurse who wishes to serve on the negotiating committee should contact Anita Snyder.
